And I thought I got a good deal when I picked one up from Adorama for $349 last month

Don't know about that eBay seller, though. Are they Panasonic authorized...?

The G5 is definitely a nice upgrade from my G3 - better grip, faster AF, better LCD, and a 2nd control dial. And better dynamic range at base ISO - my main IQ complaint with the G3.

Meanwhile, my wife also got an upgrade from G2 to G3

Cheers

Mike

It's all your fault Frank!!, it will be here in a few days:biggrin:, been eyeballing those cameras for a while, is there a camera AA.

If there is, I haven't found it. :Teeth:

Great buy, Darrell. Think of it as an amusing but inexpensive summer rental.

Ok. Where's that G7?

I want a $300 G6.

Seriously, with a little patience the G series can be a whole lotta bang for the buck.

Yeah, the specs on the G6 are nice, especially the new OLED Live View Finder.

Is the g6 a big improvement over the g5 in terms of image quality? I didn't get that impression after reading a few reviews.

No difference, the viewfinder is OLed and much better. It has built in wifi and NFC and the video capabilities are better but same sensor...

I think we should all just buy mirrorless cameras after they drop below the $300 mark. They all seem to head that direction.

Not much if any there Frank. :frown:
But, it's not that bad.

Yeah, the specs on the G6 are nice, especially the new OLED Live View Finder.

That, the manual video setting control, focus peaking, and wi-fi would probably be worth the small upgrade price for me.

One of the best features of the system imo.
Let's see. G5/GX1 until xmas. Maybe a PL5 or PM2 around then. G6 next spring/summer.

The only thing that may ruin my wonderful frugal plan is the GX2 or P5.

You're in good shape. You own 2 nice bodies, so you're under no pressure to buy. You can wait to see how the p5 and g2 are received before you decide.
just seen a video on the G5, and they said "any 4/3rd lens is interchangeable", I said huh?????????????????
does that mean the Nikon 1 V1 FT adapter will work??
