Please, does anyone have info about this wireless device:

WiFi connectivity
Check e-mail
Browse the web
access to over one million ebooks

$77 sounds like a good deal! What other related expenses are there? Subscription fee? Activation fee? I don’t have a cell phone nor any other new fangled devices . . .

I can't comment on that specific reader. I will, however, vouch for Pandigital as a reputable company. I lost the power adapter for a Pandigital digital picture frame and, though there was nothing wrong (defective) with the frame (I had simply lost the adapter), they shipped me a replacement free of charge (including shipping). They also answer their phone. Refreshingly unusual.

Thanks to both of you for your input!

I'm guessing this device only is connected when you're within 150 feet of a Wi-Fi hotspot? Is there a device that can connect to the internet and access Google maps or call the AAA but less expensive than a cell phone?

Check the reviews. I have a friend who tried one and wasn't particularly pleased with it. I suppose it depends on your needs, though.
