Patrick buzzes the house at 7:45pm

Patrick calls and says..."Run outside, quick!"

So I did...and he was flying overhead...

I ran back in and grabbed a camera. The D50 had a battery and a card.

Once over the house...

Yeah, I have a hard time getting too excited (I have a deathly fear of flying in small aircraft), but he enjoys it so I try.

Nope, this wasn't a solo, but it was a rather special flight. At the last minute, his instructor volunteered to let him have a go at his own personal Cub. To say that Patrick is excited right now would be an understatement! :wink: He has had a few solo flights, which were exciting events for him, as well.

Friends, I had a great evening tonight. Solo'd in the Cessna 172 into a controlled airport for my 3 takeoffs and landings at a towered airport, so I can now check that off the list.

Afterwards when i got back to home base, Bob my CFII asked if I wanted to get a ride in the Cub. How could I resist!

1947 Piper J3 cub, real flying!!!! What great fun!

Oh, and it wasn't buzzing really. Turns around a point at 1,500AGL. Buzzing sounds unsafe, I'm not about unsafe flying.

It's good to see Patrick having fun since he is so serious when he's working. I'm glad he has the chance to do this since it's been a dream all his life.
