Peeps

I believe the these two bird species fall into the category "peeps" but I'm having trouble identifying. Please help...

1. Sanderling or Western Sandpiper?

Pretty sure the first one is a sanderling though a dark one. But I only get to see western sandpipers in breeding plumage up here so could be wrong.

The second one looks like a ruddy turnstone.
