Performance of the DX12-24 on the D600?

Anyone using the DX12-24 on the D600 from 18 to 24? Samples? How are the corners?

I think that this is going to be the deciding factor for me between a refurb D600 and a D7100 (all my other lenses are FF).

Thanks.

I've read that from 18mm to 24 it is acceptable on an FX camera. Just wanting to see if anyone has used it with the D600. I've seen reports of success with D700/D3's.

Just a thought - why not sell the 12-24 and buy a wide FX prime instead? You should be able to get $400 for the 12-24, if its in good condition. For that you can buy a 20mm/2.8 AF-D.

The 12-24 in DX mode gives you 18-36mm equivalent at f/4, with 10.5 megapixels resolution on the D600.

The old 20mm/2.8 prime gives you a real 20mm at f/2.8 with 24 megapixels, and you can crop that down to get 30mm equivalent with 10.5 Megapixels, still at f/2.8.

So you have pretty much the same thing, except you can choose which part to crop, and you have f/2.8.

This question was asked a while ago and I looked into it and found I could get to about 15mm without any noticeable vignetting. But the corners get pretty garbled especially at wider apertures. Still for that must have wide shot it certainly works and if you already have it in your bag it's a cheap way to get out to 15mm.

If you think the 35 1.8 works ok on FX, you will be happy with the 12/24 on FX. I don`t consider them acceptable.
