He does a nice job of showing where each camera shines and where it comes up lacking. Watch it in HD if you have the bandwidth:

I was dissapointed he didn't do a motion test. not for rolling shutter but to see the compression quality of the internal codecs when challenged with motion. I know the uncompressed out will always win it but I'm interested to see if the MKIII internal codec holds better than the D800 internal codec. Although it is 28mbps vs 24mbps, the D800 codec never ceases to surprise me.

The other thing is that the All-I codec on the MKIII is actually worse looking than the 28mbps IBP frame codec. 96mbps is too little for an all intrafame codec and it has "mosquito noise" issues which the B frame codec does not.

I'm very surprised he even used it for the review.

That's a good point. I'm planning on using a Ninja for recording the uncompressed feed when the D800 lands and if the codecs were poor compared to straight HDMI out, it would be a compelling change of workflow for a lot of DSLR videographers.

I'm surprised there is not more D4 posting their video tips, tricks and works. Everyone post their stills but hardly no video post like the still post.

I have a friend that shoots professional video review a clip we shot together for his event. He said it was good at 6000iso he was VERY happy.

I wondering the Phillip lens was out of speck. maybe he needed the Lens align kit?
