Philippe and Frank's Wedding

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Uncle Frank, Aug 13, 2005.

  1. No, no, we didn't get married :p . We shot a wedding together on July 31. The gallery is now complete, and the proofs have been sent to the bride. If you'd like to meander through almost 400 wedding photos, here's a link. Note that the bride asked us to concentrate on candids and shots of the children. Philippe used the 17-55 and 70-200 lenses, and I used the 28-70.

'Grats on a job well done Frank! They look great! Doesn't completion of a project like that feel good?

    What's next? ;) :D

  3. Yes, it feels good now that it's all done... but I have to tell you (and you already know this Chris), it's a LOT of work! To be honest, it was also a lot of fun. Being the second fiddle, I had no pressure to get "the" shots and so instead I was able to get something a bit different, which complements what Frank did quite nicely. A good experience... and fun was had by all! :)

I don't know that covering the wide and long ends of the focal length is 'second fiddle' - more like a specialist! I should have said 'Grats ... Frank and Philippe!' but you know, ya type fast and ... ... ;)

  6. Thanks, Chris and Paul! Philippe definitely had a blast shooting his first wedding, as evidenced by this picture.

  7. Excellent coverage and well done images. Congratulations to the two of your. Frank, I was wondering how you sent the proofs to the bride (prints or disc)? Liked your website by the way.

Great pics UF and Philippe!! Looks like you guys really enjoyed yourselves too.

  9. The contract required the couple pay half of the agreed fee on the day of the event. The other half is due upon receipt and approval of the proofs, which are in the form of fully edited 4x6 prints, suitable for albums. After I receive the final payment, I will ship a CD containing all of the edited high res images, and will grant unlimited printing privileges. That allows them to buy their enlargements from Ofoto at low cost.

I'm also committed to maintain their web gallery for a period of 1 year following the event.

  10. Thanks, Frank. It was great fun to work with Philippe and his Sherpa (wife), Julene. She got into the act, too, using the backup camera.

She took some good people pics, and did a particularly great job of capturing details that Philippe and I had overlooked.

It's easy to see she enjoyed the gig, too.

  11. Thanks guys. Julene was a big help for sure, and she did have some fun as well. :p Who knows? I may have my D70 hijacked semi-permanently now... I know a few here are in the same predicament, and it's a "Good Thing", as you enjoy the same hobby as your partner... and also have a built-in excuse for more feeding of the LLD! ;-)
