I visit Pescadero, California, every month or two and pick up goat cheese from Harley Farms, Artichoke-Garlic-Herb bread from Arcangeli Grocery and beans from Phipps Ranch. Mr. Phipps was gracious enough to show off his stock of beans - all organic, hand cleaned and beautiful (to a bean lover). Here are a few shots I took while waiting for them to open (11:00 AM).

All taken with a D7000, 16-85 at ISO 100. Exif data at flickr.

Those are really nice images. And it's very interesting to see how they collect the beans in those containers. This looks like a place I would love to visit!

Thanks Lyndee. They grow a great variety of heirloom beans and have U-Pick berries in the late spring. All organic, as they have done for years. I'm fortune to have gotten all my beans from them for over 30 years with the large runner and cranberry bean varieties my personal favorites. Pescadero never seems to get the respect it deserves as a destination.

If I'm reading this right it sounds like you're full of beans, Ted...!

If I ate there could I drive all the way home without stopping for "Gas"...?

(Sorry, I just couldn't help myself... )

Seriously though, very good series and commnetary... I especially liked #2 because it looks like just the
sort of place I would probably buy from...
