Phoebe or Eastern Kingbird?

Discussion in 'Birds' started by MikeMcA², Aug 13, 2008.

  1. Most of the photogs said this was a kingbird, but looking at the books it appears kinda like a phoebe to me. I'm so confused with this birding stuff lol

    For anyone interested, D300, 400 f/2.8 AF-S II, TC20E, f/7.1, 1/640 SS.

  2. ah.... 1200mm
    great shot
  3. lol...thanks Greg. Perhaps I left out the most important parts of this equation: GT-5540LS tripod, RRS head, Wimberley Sidekick, remote release, and +20 adjustment on the AF-Fine Tune.

It is incredible how much simply breating wobbles the image at these focal lengths.
  4. Phoebe

(here's a shot of a Kingbird for comparison - notice the lack of white tips on the tail of your bird and also the banding of the wings)
