the J1 looks like a really great camera

kidding, in certain hands J1 is easily capable (as is nearly every camera made in the last few years)

lovely pictures

Great photos, I really like the last one in the second set as well. The out of focus rendering is pretty nice for relatively distant backgrounds, maybe just a little busy in the transitions. Impressive for whichever little lens you were using! Not sure how much post-processing you did, but the results are great.

Thanks to all for the nice comments.

Post processing is identical to my 12 year old workflow I still use.
  • Tool as of today: Capture CNX2 2.2.8
  • RAW file
  • Whitebalance either set on grey value or kelvin
  • If needed slight tone adjustment (2-3 images in this set)
  • NR = OFF
  • crop to 16:10 (usually long side is the full size)
  • convert to 1920x1200
  • No USM or very slight (the J1 doesn't need much) in CNX2 (15/2/0), in night shots (5/2/0)
  • Save in best quality JPEG and uploaded on a server which does not recompress
That's it.

regards,
Andy

This was a fun one. I was personally in a very shaky position and could only do one-handed shooting. Yet, the VR "saved" the image.
