Photo slideshow software

I'm looking for recommendations for software for creating photo slideshows to show on my HDTV.

I really like the image quality of jpegs displayed directly on my TV. I use NX2 to resize images to match the screen resolution, copy them to a USB flash drive, and insert it into the USB slot on the TV. It will then display them in (some sort of) sequence in full resolution.

What I don't like is the lack of control over the order in which the pictures are shown; it seems to be random. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Or must I resort to some slideshow software to create a DVD?

You don't need any software.
The TVs I've tried it with (Panasonic) display them in file name order.
But they also support folders.
So put the files into folders, and give them file names (or numbers) in the order you want.
They also have an extra feature where you can select date, and it shows you them all divided into months - the months look like folders.
The manual for your TV should cover all this.

Creating a DVD will give you hugely inferior results, standard definition instead of high definition.
