The last shots I'm posting from my visits to this reserve last week. All shots D200 and 300mm f/4 Nikkor on top of a Manfrotto monopod, except for the first.
Redshank, photographed from one of the hides beside a coastal scrape.
Willow warbler. The sharp-eyed will notice that it looks almost identical to the chiffchaff that Phillip200 posted yesterday (although my shots are not nearly as good as his :frown
. The easy way to tell them apart is their songs - the willow warbler has a pretty tune, but the chiffchaff just repeats its name.
Great tit (near the feeders)
Cock pheasant
A handsome fellow who posed nicely. No field skills were necessary to get close to him, thousands of hand-reared pheasants are released each year for shooting: I'm afraid this guy is too tame to live long once the season opens :Sad:
I hadn't realised that a crowing pheasant closes it eyes, until I looked at this last shot.
