Pictures were made yesterday. My grandparents lived here and we often visited them at sundays. I hope you like them. C&C appreciated.

  2. Very interesting shots Gert-Jan. I'm sure I saw a place very like this on my trip to Amsterdam last year. It was like a haven of peace in the middle of the city. So much so that my wife started whispering and told me not to take pictures!
  3. Thanks for sharing the interesting information and the nice photos.
I think to my eyes a little less saturation would look better.

And now you're going to get a different perspective - I love the vividness of the colors, so, for me, the saturation is fine. On the flip side, I'm not too crazy about the b&w.

What is it they say about beauty being in the eye of the beholder?

Great photos, though - thanks for sharing!
  5. Very nice surroundings. I wouldn't mind living there
  6. Lovely images of the "hofje".
I was born and raised in Leiden, a beautiful old city with a number of hofjes (some are very hard to find!).
  7. Thanks all for the replies. Glad you liked them. Frits: I know Leiden is has a number of hofjes. It is a beautiful city and i hope to visit it soon. Hofjes are usually harder to find because they are hidden between the larger houses at the streets. I found most of the hofjes in my city simply by walking through the streets looking for entries to these hofjes.

  8. They're all very nice shots. But this is my favorite.
I could look at it all day. It goes places.
