Sibley says uncommon except inland, where then it is often the most common seen. This is my first one in this area in 2.5 years of shooting. This is a cute bird:smile:

Adult breeding (notice band on bill).

    Trusty 300 ASF f4 with 1.4 - handheld, bright....

Good shooting Jeff. Got my first one, barely, a couple of weeks ago. Just the head peaking over a wave in a very choppy lake. They are cute little things.

  5. Very cute. I see them often around here and shot many. Really nice looking bird. Pity I've never seen one BIF of them.

  8. Nicely done! If you dress up in camoflage clothing and move towards the bird using available cover to mask your gross movements, then when close, move very slowly, you can get some really nice shots.

  9. Beautiful! Pretty birdie too!
