Pileated Woodpecker - " you're too close!!"

So while I was sitting in the courtyard, freezing my socks off while trying to not startled the local bird visitors, my nemesis the Pileated Woodpecker flew in and landed on one of the three red pine in my courtyard. Crap...I had the 500 attached to the Z6 and the trees were 6-8 ft away. To make things worse for me, he stuck around for longer than usual hopping to each of the three pine trees.
I was sitting down so couldn't move back to get the whole bird in the frame...always have two cameras with you!!!

LOL...I really believe this pileated is playing with my mind...he knew that I had too much lens on the camera. Thankfully he didn't laugh at me as he flew away this time.

These shots prove one of my favorite sayings for wildlife photography, Bob. You can never have too much lens. These are excellent.
