Went stomping through the woods on Labor Day weekend, and brought my camera, much to my families chagrin. I didn't take as many as I wanted to, but I couldn't pass these up.

The name "Pisgah" nat'l forest is interesting to me as there is a new stairs on the dunes a 15 min. walk from our home that is called Mt. Pisgah. This name was, I believe, from the local Ottawa Indian tribe that lived here in Michigan previous to 1847. Do you know what the name means?

I did a quick bit of research and came up with this

"The name Pisgah comes from the Bible, Deuteronomy 3:27." - Wikipedia

The Pisgah mountain in NC and the ridge located there were in Cherokee land, but the Cherokee had other names for them.

"The mountain was Elseetoss and the ridge was Warwasseeta" - Wikipedia
