Playing a tourist in SE Louisiana

  1. Thought I will play a tourist in my backyard and post some photos. Your criticism is very much appreciated.

    1. Oak Alley in the evenings - This is after all the tourists have left and the sun has just set. The lights transport you to the times when plantations were the backbone of the rural south.

    2. Oak Alley - A wider view. The sightseers have not departed yet and they are trying to soak up the sunset from the large balcony.

    3. Chalmette Battleground Memorial - damaged very heavily by Katrina but the flag still flies proudly.

    4. Sunset in the bayous - an increasingly disappearing item... our wetlands. Hope our grand kids and their kids get a chance to enjoy this.

    5. Fireworks - at Lafreniere Park in Metairie. The restoration after the damage caused by Katrina is almost complete and the fireworks celebrated it.

    Excellent shots.

  3. I was thinking the same thing. New Orleans, as well as the rest of coastal Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi don't need another Cat 3 landfalling hurricane. :frown:

Anyway, nice series of pics! I enjoyed looking at them.

  4. Those are very nice! The 2nd one is very cool!

  5. Let's hope this changes.
