Leeds University organised a photographic competition. Here's a quote from their website... "The University's city and regional office is running a photography competition, encouraging you (whether student, University staff or member of the public) to capture and submit images which reflect the way you perceive the inner North West area of Leeds (Hyde Park, Woodhouse, Headingley, Kirkstall and Weetwood). The images can be positive or negative, people or places, it's up to you. The 1st prize is £200, 2nd prize £100 and 3rd prize £50. The images will be used in the new community strategy, published in the autumn, and associated publicity." I entered the photograph below and earlier today I received a call to inform me that it had won first prize! I tried to illustrate different sections of the community living closely together in harmony as demonstrated by the juxtaposition of vastly differing architectural styles. I've had a few pictures published in various publications but this is my first ever competition win. Needless to say, I'm thrilled.
