Wonderful photographs Bernd. It's such a beautiful country. The Portra really has fabulous color.

Thanks guys.

Btw I noticed a mistake - #1 was a digital image, shot with Olympus XZ1. But all others are Portras, scanned with a D700 and Mikro Nikkor, processed with the color negative tool of digiKam.

Yes, Iceland is great, a fascinating country. Been there 1986 and now again. Alltough the weather was not the best we had a great time there. And sure I will travel a third time to Iceland - next year or 2015..

cheers,
Bernd

Great set, bring back memories from a beautiful island.

I´ve been thinking of traveling to Island again, or the Faroe Islands, both beautiful places to bring Portra for great photographical subjects and happenings.

Thanks, Fredric!

This year, the winter didn't want to go in Iceland, the weather was about 1 month behind. But even with bad weather the Portra colours are great and have a subtle quality - especially compared with the digital images of the Olympus. But when the weather is better, the Portra really shines ... I like that Kodak colours and especially the Portra colours. I hope it will exist a few years longer and they will produce it for ever ...

More terrific photographs. The contrast of building types in the first is absolutely amazing.

Thanks, Art!

The building styles are interesting ...

Here is a typical older-style house ...

Iceland is far in the north, but the houses are built with not very thick walls and they are not insulated. This is because of the abundance of geothermal energy. They told me that you have to pay only about 30€ per month for heating, electricity and hot water ...

And this is Harpa, the new concert hall and meeting center of Rejkjavik:
