Patrick started the thread for pictures of moms, so I thought I would start one for Dad's.
My Dad pass on to Heaven just about 2 years ago and I really miss him a lot.
I don't miss the last few years that much because he was so sick, but I miss the last 15 years a lot.
My Dad always ate desert first at family and church gathers, and then afterwards too.
When asked shortly before he passed, how long he had been married to my mom. He smiled and said that he had been happily married for 57 years and that wasn't to bad out of 64! :biggrin:

Here is my dad. Mack is his name. My dad has been my hero since I was a small child and still is. He raised 6 of us. My father was a workaholic. His profession was broadcasting in both Engineering and management. He started as an engineer and eventually owned and operated several radio and television stations in Alabama. He retired in 1996 when he sold his stations of 30 years to what is now Clear Channel Communications. I followed him everywhere, he always allowed me to be involved with whatever he was doing with work. As a result I began working at a very early age. During the summers I would work overnight radio shifts before they were automated and learned all I could about broadcasting. Radio was my first love and I still enjoy my status as a contract engineer for a few mom n pop stations in my area.

Ok here is a photo i shot today of my dad. I used my new 400w/s lighting set i just got today. The backdrops i had ordered where not deliverd yet. And i had bad luck because the trigger that i got deliverd did not work to. But at least i could take some quick photo's. Never used a lighting set before.

Here is my dad in approx. the year 1900 (he was born in 1882)..
No, I am not kidding - let me expand:
I was born in 1948 (57 years young now :smile: ). At the time my dad was 66 - remember, this was before Viagra :biggrin: :biggrin: . After worshipping me, the benjamin of the family, he passed away at 73 - when I was 7. I nevertheless vividly remember a lot of things about him.
Funny thing is that my oldest son (31) looks like him like it were HIS dad!!

Hello Frits,

So i see your father is from the Netherlands the photo is taken in Den Haag. So did your family left the Netherlands in the time of war? Because you where born right after the second world war. Frits is typical dutch name to.

One thing Canada and Netherlands have in common much water! But i bet Canada is much more beautifull and much more nicer people. Netherlands is not bad and is not ugly. Netherlands have its beauties but for some reason i am allways been impressed by the beauty of Canada.
