I got one a couple of days ago. This bridge is no longer used for motorized traffic, but is now a footbridge.

One of the few covered bridges out west, that I know of. No longer covered, and no longer used by trains, it is open to the sky and serves as road access to a farm in eastern Washington. Shot in 2010.

This is Ponte di Olina near Modena in Italy. It dates from 1555.

It was a toll bridge and the steep inclination was to stop the muleateers rushing over the bridge without paying.

A few hours later at night yesterday, at high tide, because of the very strong winds, a passer-by fell into the Thames.
The Police spent hours looking for him/her.

Dinant was home to Adolphe Sax, inventor of the Saxaphone. The bridge is lined with artistic renditions of saxophones, each painted and adopted by different countries.

The Münsterbrücke is a lovely pedestrian and automotive bridge in Zurich. The Grossmunster church is in the background.

The Hawthorne Bridge is a vertical lift truss bridge spanning the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. It is the oldest vertical-lift bridge in operation in the United States and the oldest highway bridge in Portland. It is also the busiest bicycle in Oregon, with over 8,000 cyclists a day.

This is our famous sunshine skyway bridge which connects St. Petersburg to Terra Ceia towards Sarasota. The bridge is currently being fitted with LED lights which will illuminate the underside and concrete pilings. Stay tuned for some new night shots of this structure once that lighting installation is complete.
