This is the Dorchester suburb of Poundbury. Very distinctive I think (the town, not my photo). Lots on Google if you are interested. This was taken from the ancient hill fort of Maiden Castle, looking north. D800E and Nik 70-200mm f/2.8G VR2 at 200mm and f/8.

Interesting how contained this is within all the open land. Definitely an interesting town!
Thanks for the comment Dossy, that was what caught my attention too; but this town (or suburb) didn't grow 'organically', it was a planned project, and not finished yet.

This town was a Prince Charles project some years ago now.
I think he still takes an interest William. Thanks for the comment.

Marvellous landscape with the patterns on the land surrounding the town.
Great composition and processing, Brian!
Thanks for that Bart, pity the sharpness seems to be lost in resizing.

The foreground makes the background, which makes the foreground, and it all comes together so well. Nicely done, Brian.
Thank you for the kind comment Palouse, the photo is a couple of years old now, but I am enjoying it as a desktop at the moment. Thinking of going back there for another crack.
