Pretty Birdie

  1. I usually ignore gulls. They're powerful, athletic beasties, but common, intrusive, and rather homely. But when I went to the beach earlier this week, they were the only things with wings on which I could try out my d200's AF system. To make it worse, I had a fast focusing lens, but a very short one... the 28-70. I didn't expect much, but I ended up with several shots that have made me rethink my standards for avian beauty.

Okay, so they aren't majestic...but your images are great. Let's chalk it up as practice for the real birdies next time.
