Printer Profile = Monitor profile, never mind

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Electromen, Dec 12, 2005.

  1. On my Epson R800, in PS CS2, for a printer profile, I was able to choose the monitor profile created by the Spyder2 Pro . I like the results, I've only printer two so far, but they look good, better than the profile downloaded from Epson. Has anyone else tried this? Would it fix the other Epson profile problems discussed here with the 1800 or 2200?

Just to make sure I understand, you used the monitor profile as the paper profile?

    Hi Greg,
This doesn't look right to me. Profiles for monitors are different from profiles for printers and paper. Do the colors look ok on your prints?
  4. Poor results this time

I just tried it again with a photo with a wider range of color and contrast.
The results were way too light and I'm going back to my original Epson profiles.

Sorry to take up your time, I should have experimented more before my post,

No harm done, it sounded fishy, but I'll try anything once.....well, almost. I have yet to get home to try it, so I didn't waste any paper or ink. Sometimes we get excited when we think we find a solution to our problems, done it myself.
