I am using an I-7 with Windows 7 and IE 11.
I was getting some frequent errors when switching to different sites.
It would say "Can't load page"
I did quite a bit of searching and found much advice but nothing seemed to solve the problem.
I reset my modem, cleared the cache and cookies.
Still nothing.
I found one site that suggested going in to IE Options/Connections/LAN Settings.
It suggested to uncheck "Automatically Detect Settings"
I did and it seems to have solved the problem.
Not really sure why this worked but it does.
I did try reverting back to original configuration and the error reappeared.

Mike / Nick,

Here you go.
Break out a Cab Sauvignon or your favorite and I would like to hear user opinions on Richard's suggestion of using Firefox or Chrome.
His favorite was Firefox.
This is something I should have done quite some time ago.
Would like your input along with pros and cons if you have used both.

I have used only Firefox. That's because when I first tested it years ago a contact on another forum using a calibrated monitor could easily see a dark shadow on a dark tabletop in one of my photos using Firefox (as could I) but not so when using Chrome. More important to me, I couldn't tell a difference when viewing the photo using Firefox, my cataloging software or my image-editing software. That was years ago, so I'm sure both products' color-management capabilities have changed since then. My reason for mentioning this is that before you decide upon a browser, if that sort of viewing accuracy is important to you, you might want to test drive that particular capability.

My contribution to the Drinking Support Team tonight will be Pinot Noir. :)

At this moment I have 25 websites open at once in Firefox. This is normal for me.
Performance of the software is instant.
Firefox gets restarted only when I restart my machine once a month when the Microsoft updates arrive.

Web browser preference, like most things, comes down to familiarity. You "like" what you know. I moved to Firefox long ago when work required me to use Windows and the MS browser selection was, ahem, inadequate. I sometimes use Safari and Chrome. Safari is a good browser. Chrome is also a good browser but their current direction makes me uneasy.

Firefox is a good choice.

Oh Karen,
This is not good.
I remember you have a very long drive to replenish.
May I suggest there are many online services that will deliver to your home.
Have never had a problem .
Just make sure you have an adult over 21 to sign for the delivery.
