PS Actions

Discussion in 'Retouching and Post Processing' started by JerseyJay, Jul 28, 2008.

  1. I have been chatting with LindaZ in regards to some of her post-processing techniques. I also found few other sites which pp'ing was very appealing. A lot of the work is clearly done via PS Actions.

What PS Actions would you recommend for people type photography. I perfectly I understand the devil behind PS Actions and I do have decent knowledge of PS but having few good PS Actions would be handy.

    Example ...

Kubota have been some of the nicest I've seen, but they come at a price...

Like I mentioned to you earlier, I do love http://www.indieactions.com/ and use them on a regular basis. They are affordable too.

It's always a good idea to have a fundamental understanding of Photoshop before jumping into actions without understanding why and how and what they are doing to your photo though.

Here's some starters: Find a good book or a website that explains what
adjustment layers can do for you.

    Understand Masking.

Get familiar with the Burn tool.

Try to get familiar with with Curves.

But one of the really handy tools, are the blending Modes, which many actions are made up of, together with adjustment layers and a curve..or two.

    I hope this helps!

btw, my best stuff is here www.lindazelnio.com

Also, amazing SonyaM also have a set of Actions that you could take a look at : http://www.freewebs.com/appleofmyeyedesigns/
