I've been using Qimage since the early 2000's and think very highly of it. The trial version allows trial users to print, with limitations, Qimage Ultimate also includes a VERY CAPABLE RAW PROCESSOR based on but extended beyond dcraw.

Qimage videos @ their learning center:

I have no affiliation with & receive no economic benefit from DDI Software. I'm just a satisfied customer.

Mike Chaney (the Qimage developer) has gone to a subscription model, but the ANNUAL cost after the first year is $20. Well worth it imo. With all the brouhaha over Adobe, I suggest taking a serious look at this program, especially at the sale price.

I am in the same situation as you are. I would like to hear from someone who upgraded. My needs are simple; just 1 image per sheet. I wonder if IQ is better on the new version.

I downloaded the demo. I think there are some improvements in IQ with new algorithms and especially the new sharpening. I really like the RAW processing too. Long story short I bought the upgrade for the new features and also because I want to support good software.
