Quick outing to Berlin Zoo

Whilst working out in Berlin this week, I took some time and made a quick visit to Berlin zoo with some friends.

So here are some of my better attemps; I try to hide the "zoo" aspect as much as possible, and whilst there's no kidding these aren't real wildlife photos, I think showing the animal in a more natural environment makes them stand out better :redface:

All of these were shot with the 85/1.4 I think.

Nice pics, the 85mm did a great job hiding the tiger cage. Any pics of Knut? I haven't been there for quite a while.
The orangs I love as well, especially mother Mücke with her daughter Sato.

Yup. I initially had the 24-70 mounted, but quickly swapped to the 85/1.4 to get the shallow DoF. As you say, does a good job of hiding the bars where possible (tiger photos).

Knut's the polar bear I think? No, we didn't see him (her?) :frown:
I was surprised how busy it was. We often had to wait quite a few minutes to get to the "front" of the display.

Feeding the lions was fun to watch. Yes, the tigers look cute, but I had a bit of a shiver down my spine when they started running around and roaring :redface:

contains various Knut galleries. Yes, it the polar bear (male).
He's now 2.5 years old I believe and a "teenie". Maybe you missed him because of the crowd in front of him. :wink:

Maybe I should goo to the zoo again.
