    the nikon 300 f4 and the tc14e.. what lenght will that give me mounted on a d70

  2. Should be: (lens focal length X Converter) X crop factor

    Comes down to:
    (300 X 1.4) X 1.5 = 630mm equivalent to 35mm.

    note: brackets to illustrate the principle only - mathematically not required, of course.

    300 x 1.4 = 420 mm.

    "Crop factor" has no bearing on the focal length.

    Yes, but I suspect the questioner wanted to know what effective FOV he would get on his D70.

    trying to decide between this combo or the something in the reach of 500 mm like the bigma or the 80 400 vr nikon or the sigma os...
