Quiet Night by the Pool

    Nikkor 35/2 at f/2, handheld at 1/2 sec:

    My night time handheld shots are becoming more steady. Now I'm aiming for 2 sec. handheld shots.

    I'm sorry to be such a wet blanket, but why is this handheld approach such a joy for you? These images are not sharp. All of them would benefit from using a tripod at those shutter speeds. Even then, dicey..
     
  4. sometimes a tripod is not always convenient, mike. i can shoot handheld at 1/2 at about a 50% sharp ratio. 2 sec would be impressive...

  6. Sometimes we are forced to take a long exposure shot and do not have a tripod handy. When I am faced with that I look for a brace such as a tree, wall, chair, etc. I agree with Mike, there is nothing to be gained in hand holding a shot that cries out for a tripod. I find your second shot quite interesting.
