I was a kid at the time but my first exposure to Richie was a K-Tel record that had the song/track "Minstral From Gault" on it....

I was lucky enough to see him in two small venues - in Boston about 15 years ago and in Redwood City about 5 years ago. He was a wonderfully engaging performer both nights, it's very sad to see him go.
