Theresa & I had quite a nice day out, last Saturday. The "accommodating RT Hawk" kinda stole the show and got is own thread, but there were more. Here's a few.

It was a balmy 29° F when we arrived at this area. (that's quite cool, in our area!)

Sure wish I could have captured this Merlin in a better spot or in action, but this was it.

Nice set, Phil. From a technical perspective the swan images are really excellent.

I like them all Phil, but especially the warbler and the merlin. The Z7 II seems to handle the 600mm lens with a TC really well. Wonder how it will take my 500 pf ( waiting for the Z7 II still)

Thanks Bob.

I have not tried the Z7II with 500PF & TC yet, but based on my experience with the Z50, Z6, & Z6II I am quite confident it will perform quite well. ;-)

Thank you Dan. I appreciate that. I struggle with the shaded area to teh right of the 2nd swan, but it came out ok - perhaps not as obvious here as on the 5k monitor during processing.

Here's a couple with 500PF, but no TC. I was playing with tracking.
I processed this in a darker than normal room. :-/

How did you find the focus acquisition with this combo?

Honestly, it was surprisingly good.

It's certainly not D500, D850, D5/6 speed, but definitely usable, repeatable, and reliable.

Still, of the Z bodies (at least to me) the Z50 seems to be the quickest to acquire & lock focus.
