Random (sail, power) boat images.

  1. Let's see your random images of any and all types of boats. This shot was taken aboard the Star of India in San Diego, Ca. She is the oldest working tall ship in the world.

  2. The SS John Brown. Rarely seen under it's own power and I was lucky enough to catch it here coming under the Key Bridge as it entered the Baltimore Harbor.

  3. The USS Constellation. The move of this ship was scheduled for 5pm, witch would have made the lighting excellent. Well, as usual, this didn't happen until about two and a half hours later and there was very little light by that time. Anyway, it was really nice to see the old ship out and away from the dock. The picture was taken from the seawall at Fort McHenry with the Key Bridge in the background.

  4. This is just a random shot from the Baltimore Harbor of The Ruckert Terminal.

  7. Keep these images coming please. I'm a sailor, and there is nothing as exhilirating as sailing up next to one of these massive vessels.

In case you are wondering what the fast boat entering from the left is, here is a closer look:

  10. Tom,

Beautiful picture.....I love the tall ships. The boat in the lower picture looks stealthy. Is it some type of government vessel?

    God Bless,

  11. This is the Wind Star, which is a 430 foot sailing cruise ship. I was fortunate enough to be aboard this awesome vessel for 10 days cruising off the coast of Italy Greece and Croatia in 2006. We were at anchor in Dubrovnik when I took this picture.

This was taken on a recent cruise. We were at Grand Turk when I took this. Shot with my D300 and 18-200 VR (purchased for the cruise).

    Robert,

Here is another angle. Sorry about all the crap on the dock, it is hard to get rid of.

Somewhere I have a shot of it heading out with the dinghy in tow, with a nice background.

A regatta I saw while out sailing a few weeks ago. I did some processing on this one in cs3 using textures to give it a slight painterly effect.
