Reading DVD created by PC

Discussion in 'Apple/Mac' started by davidzvi, Jul 13, 2008.

  1. I'm posting this here and in the PC forum.

I am a PC user but am trying to create a DVD (straight data DVD, just images backup no spaning disks or creating multi disk project) for a MAC user. 2 attempts, 2 failures.

Both were done with Roxio version 9xe
Both done on Maxell DVD+R media
The first was done with file system: UDF102 (probably with Joliet Bridge)
Second was done with file system: ISO9660

He is getting cyclic redundancy errors and can not copy some of the files or will copy then but their size will be 0kb
Also the only files on the disk that seem to be a problem are the larger files, specifically the full size Fuji RAW files. They are all over 25mb. A compressed Fuji RAW file (Fuji has a utility to compress the files that gives you something I believe is like compress NEF), a DNG converted file, Nikon NEF's, and Jpegs copy fine. All the other files are under 14mb.

    Any ideas?
  2. I'm not the most knowledgeable here but my thoughts are:

it might be the Roxio, - Don't like it prefer Nero.
or the Maxell's - try Ritek or Taiyo Yuden if possible.
or maybe try -R media. It might be his drive doesn't like the + disks.
