Real life ISO on D500?

one of the disadvantages bird shooters have is feathers. Feathers take a beating from noise and often from NR sw. The D500 is a very attractive wildlife camera for lots of reasons but it needs a lot of light. I keep mine for Florida, there it shines at ISO 200

I've had some excellent results with birds and the 200-500 at ISO 1600 in sun, direct or filtered. There's a quality of colour and detail in some of those which is impressive. Nikkor glass? Dunno; I'm new to Nikon.
