I had a Signet. Well, I still have it, but the mechanism froze and I can't cock the shutter anymore. It was a really fun camera, and it's 44mm f/3.5 was nice. The camera itself is a gem of art deco styling, but the small triangular RF spot was hard to see under all but the best light. The lens stopped to f/22, but the shutter speeds were a bit limited, especially considering the speed of films back then were ... a bit slower than we are used to these days (I think the sliding "meter" on the back only goes up to asa 200 for Super-xx film with the slowest film being 6 stops slower! By the way, only plus-x survives from the back scale.)

I love the pictures I took with it though, and I want to either repair mine.

I recently got into 35mm film, and started using a film scanner.

The pictures above are excellent quality.

Can you tell me you did?

Camera?
Film type?
Developed. How?
Scanned? Settings?

the Kodak Signet 35. I'm thinking most of the scans were done professionally
by a lab.

Anthony, I agree, what sold me on this camera. The first two pics are using
cheap Kodak Gold 200, nice results. I really like the fact that it close-focuses
to two feet.

Tareq, yes, do try 35mm, too, film can be bought just about anywhere and
processing, too.

In my country i can find only 2-3 films of 35mm, if i try harder i may find 4, so i don't take it as i will buy locally, i don't have that much films as you have but i am going to burn 100 120films and maybe around 200 sheets in the future, when i will have time to use 35mm films if i buy? Also we have a lab that can develop from 35mm up to 8x10, they do a great job for slides, didn't use them much for B&W to see but sure they are great in all films processing, they also have drum scanners, but what making me to think about 35mm is the portability more than IQ.

I think they had the red dot before Leica. Damn that shutter is more involved
than I thought for 4 speeds! Have you tried dowsing it in lighter fluid while
joss sticks are burning? OK, time to do some spelunking for that site.

kayaking in southern Tennessee next month, might take this with me if things work out.

Camera arrived yesterday and now have it all clean dup with Fomapan 400 that
I'm shooting at 250. Even the case and strap are in excellent condition. Shutter
speeds sound very close, too.

The little 27mm hood was in my junk drawer and fits perfectly.

That is one sweet looking Camera Bill! As you can see, it's LOTS cleaner than my specimen. You should get decades of use out of it!
