I think the dark background obscures the bill. didn't notice it at the time.

A beautiful bird! I'm growing more and more fond of the various woodpeckers and shots like this inspire me to start pursuing these beauties :)

It's a beauty Greg. I don't find the background an issue at all.
  4. Nice shot Greg!! :D  :D  :D
  5. This is really nice! Looks like he is sitting on your lens hood and with a little PS magic, he can be!
  6. Backround is just fine . Beautiful shot..

I didn't find any background problems either, but of course, I'm a novice...what do I know? Seriously though, it's really nice shot Greg! We've got a woodpecker that lives in a tree outside our house...I hear him, I just can't see him....:D

Nice shot, Greg! I've got 3 or 4 varieties of woodpeckers hanging around my yard most days and they sure are fun to watch and shoot!
  9. I love woodpecker shots and this one is a good one.
