Busy yard at the feeders today on a gloomy, after the rain morning. Jays; chickadees; white throat sparrows, and even a sapsucker. so this nuthatch came close enough to join the party.

My favorite backyard bird! NICE!
thanks Nick...one of my favourites as well. They don't stick around for more than a millisecond. Just grab the seed and run.
You captured the classic nuthatch pose. Good job.
thanks Allan
Very nicely done Bob, great feather detail and you caught the perfect pose.
thanks Louis..much appreciated
Classic nuthatch pose. Very nice Bob. (y)
thanks Rick
Nice capture. One of my favorite little birds. So cheeky.
they are cheeky and usually the first to arrive. They're not as shy as other birds, though they usually hit and run and don't stick around for long.

Really nice picture with good color detail and pose. :)
Thank you Boblou
As good as it gets!!
Thanks very much Terri.
Nice, busy jumpy little things, wish my feeder area was not so shaded.
They are busy and jumpy for sure. If I can manage to get one to sit still for more than a millisecond then I'm happy.
Very nice. I love these guys, one of which landed on my shoulder once when I was out in the bush.
They are very bold and not shy about approaching where the food source is. Have them eating out of my hands, literally - though I don't like to do that too often
