It was such a beautiful day, I just wanted to get out of the house. Stood in the woods in basically one spot for about 2 hours. Got 1 decent shot....although it is heavily cropped. They are about the size of a hairy woodpecker. We have quite a few in the woods surrounding our house.

I like the birds and the tree. I just don’t like the crop. I would rather see it taller and narrower.
Thank for commenting, Allan. A typical 2x3 crop would work fine also. However, with our horizontal oriented monitors I try to balance composition and the "negative" space a tall, narrow crop creates.
That red is amazing!!
Agree with Terri! Love the red.
It is RED, wow, super shot Karen.
Thank you, Terri, Darrell and Dossy! Yes, and this color is very, very realistic. No saturation added and I use a custom color camera profile to ensure color integrity.
Very nicely done Karen. I like the crop showing the two holes, well done.
Glad you like it, Louie!
Worth the wait!
LOL! Thanks! The woodpecker didn't come around often or stay very long, but I tried to be as unthreatening as I could!
