We went on an ATV ride to a very remote location today. We drove 22 miles each way on a dirt road to a place in Montana called the Red Rock National Wildlife Refuge. We didn't see much wildlife....just birds and a fox, but the scenery was spectacular. Too bad we were there in the middle of the day when the light isn't great.

This old wagon was a fun find....

The utmost source to the Missouri River. The water here travels 3768 miles to the Atlantic Ocean.

We camped there about 5 years ago when the trumpeter swans were there in decent numbers - did you see the sand dunes on the n. side of the refuge? It's a very interesting place.

Ron,
We have a great time in the summer. So much to explore. I would love to know the story of the wagon, too.

OH what I'd give to tag along with ya'll! Beautiful scenery, bet it was perfect in every way! It would be fun to use a medal detector around that wagon! Ya never know what may turn up!

We did not see the sand dunes. Guess we will have to go back. We saw the trumpeter swan's nesting area, but didn't see any birds. There were lots of pelicans on the lake. What time of year do you go to see the swans?
