Red Tail Hawk...(captive)

  1. Heard about a local wildlife preserve close by that has an animal hospital, with some birds on display. So I drove over and it is set in the pine trees so the light was not that abundant and I had to shoot trough the chicken wired fencing, but am still pleased with the results.
    Here are a few I grabbed of the red tail hawk which had an unfortunate encounter with a plane at McGuire AFB here in Jersey.
    Taken with the D2H and either the 70-200VR or 300f4 with 1.4 tele

  10. thanks Frank these captive birds are here for the duration so that is why they are on displayed there adn not in the hospital

  19. Mike, that third one is just awesome. I think the background being almost the same color as the bird is great. It's like a painter would do when they use the same color palette throughout a painting, everything just flows right!.
    Great stuff as usual.
