Red-tailed hawk with pickerel frog

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Allan, May 14, 2017.

  1. I was happy to see this hawk posing for me with its morning catch. It seemed content to have me taken images till a group of kids came by yelling and screaming as kids do.

  2. Outstanding photos, Allan. Really like the colorful, red tail.

  3. Allan, awesome series, number 2 being my favorite

  4. love that BG
    2 is my fav

  5. yummmm......frog..........#2 but like em all.

  6. I am glad you like them. Funny, but 2 might be my least favorite - tastes are different. This was one of my first attempts using C1 instead of LR to convert an image I like.

Outstanding! Excellent captures and processing! Hard to pick a fav, but I'll be different....#1 followed by #3....

  8. Super sequence, well done...! :)

  9. Great set Allen. I like them all - great sharpness and wonderful bg. If forced to pick, I like three as that is the easiest to identify his meal as a frog.

  10. Everything...is good about this series..

  11. Awesome opportunity and you killed it. 'Love the skin stretching shot.

  12. Thanks for the replies.

I like 3 the best - pulling apart its meal.

    Thanks Mike.

    Thanks William.

    Yes, I agree.

I think the series works well too (as opposed to just posting one.)

Thanks. I am happy it had the type of meal where it had to find a nice post on which to work its meal.

  13. You couldn't have asked for anything better Allan, superb set of images my friend.

  14. I was happy to find the hawk. Two or three minutes later a group of loud kids came by and it took off.

  15. Great series Allan, I think #3 has a great but somewhat gruesome symmetry to it...

  16. I do like the circle formed by the frog and the hawk's mouth, chest, and legs.

They're all great, I like #1 the best myself. I think maybe because it feels like a bit more action and the beak is open adding more detail and interest.

Great shot; great detail and the colors are beautiful!!! I enjoy all photos of Hawks; however, I don't think the Frog is happy!!!!!!!

  19. Good point Tim.

How can you tell Ella? :)
