It was freezing and we actually had a pretty heavy frost. Not much was moving but there were a couple of rather reflective shore birds...just as the sun came up behind me...

    -A yellow legs

    original.

    -A Willet (I think)
    original.

I played hookey today so it's back out shortly looking for ospreys and harriers...

  2. OK, that is just too wonderful. The reflection in your first shot is one of the best I have ever seen!!! :D :D :D :D

Those are amazing. I agree w/the Dawg...the reflection in the first is one of the best I've seen as well! That must have been some very still water. I guess it pays to play hooky once in a while.

Very nice Jim. I have to push for another few days to get our new product released and certified, then our annual user's conference, and then I can play hooky. I can't wait. 8)

  6. Jim, the reflections here really make these shots interesting! Nice job!

Jim -- wonderful reflections -- some of the best I've seen. It's tough to find the water that calm when the birds are in a posing mood.

    Jim,
You've done it again! Fabulous and the birds look like they're standing on mirrors..I've never seen anything like those pictures.

    Best to you,
    Gaye

    Jim :

So what's the story on the infamous focus issues ? I've been travelling heavily and not as present here on the Cafe.

There's actually supposed to be a D2X at a local camera store that I can look at, so I'm mildly curious.

And otherwise, what's up with you these days ? I eventually did get an 85mm f/1.4 - the one you extolled last December - but only a week before you sold yours...
