Went by for a bit Wednesday after work, very quiet, not many people, an interesting variety of birds. Here are a couple of Hooded Merganser that very kindly swam back and forth for me a few times prior to heading out into the lake proper. Hood Down: Hood Up: Hood Down: Hood Up: One thing I saw that puzzled me, was that one of these birds was swimming around in the laggoon, then the second male swam in rather quickly, seemed to "round up" the first male, and then they swam off together. I would have expected that with a male and female, anyone seen this with 2 males before? Darned birds wouldn't fly, in fact nothing of any great interest did on Wednesday, but it was nice to be out in the afternoon sun.
