weekend mornings over the last couple of weeks at my local wildlife refuge
keeping tabs on baby red shoulder hawks and sandhill cranes

thanks all
hopefully can stroll with the cranes again tomorrow
the hawk nest has become almost completely hidden by spring growth now...

no sandhill chicks this visit
but the hawk chicks get big quick as seen yesterday
also witnessed another pair of red shoulders "getting busy" on their own

It is incredible how fast they grow. And most birds are fairly long lived so as a percentage of lifespan they are helpless for a very short while.

For shame, Frank. That poor girl was looking at you as if mortified that you were capturing that moment.
