Since I travel a great deal (and therefore pack and unpack my gear a LOT), I have a tendency to lose eyecups. Today, I finally lost the eyecup on my 9-month-old Z6. Normally, that would be bad news.

The good news:

The very same DK-21 eyecups that fit most prosumer Nikon DSLRs do fit on the Z6/Z7. My D750 (which loves to remove and hide its eyecups in clever places when I'm not paying attention) compels me to maintain an inexpensive supply of DK-21 replacements. One of those is now on my Z6. It's not the same as the original (DK-29) but it is better than nothing.

I favor the non-OEM 75-cent eyecups. They come on the slow boat from China, so it is wise to buy a couple when you don't need them so they're on hand when you do. I gain nothing if you use this link except the knowledge that you have obtained inexpensive spare eyecup(s):

Good news status report:

So-so news: DK-21 eyecups do not have the small rectangular opening that allows auto-sensing. This means the camera always thinks you're holding it up to your eye and blanks the LCD monitor.
