A step-ring will be male on one side and female on the other... what you'll need is either a coupler ring (male-male) that has different sizes or combine a 52mm coupler with a step-down-ring.

You can get a 62mm-52mm step down ring and a 52mm-52mm macro coupler.
These are done with my D70, 105mm VR, 1.7xTC, and a reverse 50mm. Very little to no vignetting.

This is my last post about rev50. I promise!

I have a Nikon 105VR and a Nikon 50mm 1.8. I want to add my 50mm 1.8 on my 105VR to gain 2:1 magnification. (I think its 2:1 it becomes.)

The 105 VR have filter diameter 62mm
The 50mm 1.8 have filter diameter 52mm

So what I need is a coupler 52mm-52mm AND StepDown 62-52 mm??

That will all work, or do I need a stepup ring? Im confused with all this, but Im sure it will be more clear when I have the stuff and play with them.

I would be very glad to get this answerd so fast as possible so i can order it asap. :)
