Rory does deck flowers in the midday sun

  1. I was trying for a butterfly, but it didn't come out too well, so I changed gears and grabbed these snaps with the 300/4 AF-S and TC14EII. All converted in ACR3.1 with WB = 5100 and tint = -6.

I do so like the way ACR holds the highlights.

    Lovely shots Rory.

I'm curious about your WB setting. Most of my outside shots come out (at least I think they do) between 5,200 and 5,900 K. Is there a difference between the way WB is handled in ACR vs NC that would explain the apparent differences in this setting?

  3. That is my experience too, but ACR is often in the 4500 - 5100 range. I obtained this WB by shooting a WB card.

I suspect we frequently get overly warm photos. After I calibrated ACR for my camera I found the WB from a card to really work well.

Rory I love the first one.

Looks like you lit the center some how. Looks great.

You did say hi sun though. Must be it.

sometimes I find Adobe to process some pics better also.
