Ruffled Eagle

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Bobby1949, Nov 9, 2018.

  1. Action at Conowingo Dam has come to a stand still. With the flood gates open allowing millions of gallons of dingy, fast moving water below the dam, the eagles are sparse and inactive. Basically just hanging in the trees waiting to find fish.
This juvenile bald eagle is a real beauty that hangs in the trees very close to the area where the photographers gather. This is probably going to be the most photographed eagle in North America outside of captivity by the end of the year. Let me introduce you to, "Scooter The Vicious". Aptly named because it constantly scoots between a few trees along the shoreline entertaining the 100+ photographers and birders gathered nearby.

Enjoyable images, especially that first one! Perfect timing to display those formidable talons!
  4. Nicely done with very good detail.
  5. Nice, love the contrast and detail. Those talons and curved beak are impressive weapons.
  6. I really enjoyed looking at these Bobby.
  7. Thanks all. Here it is November 26th and the eagles are still not in full swing at the dam. With the spill gates open constantly for several weeks, it may not happen this year. This year may be the worse at the dam ever for bald eagle action.
