I have a ton of great glass and just don't seem to be able to 'get it up' any more.

I have a mild interest in the 24-70 to replace my 28-70 but I love The Beast and it just doesn't seem enough to make me want to pull the trigger.

Similarly, the new 85mm PC-E sounds nice, but I have the older 85mm PC, and it seems hard to justify the replacement.

And I would like to have a super telephoto, but I have the 200-400 VR and all the TEs, yet I rarely find myself using anything longer than the 70-200 VR.

I guess I should be happy that my wallet is safer now. About the only thing on the horizon that I am sure I will order is the new SB-900. The thing that attracts me the most is the zoom to 200mm, which should reduce the need for the Better Beamer with the 70-200. With the center weighting feature, it may even be useful with the 200-400.

I am completely thrilled with the D3 and have no interest in the D700.

What else should I be lusting for? Does anyone have an 8mm Fisheye they want to part with?

Try Kevin Camera. They have several, like four . Pricey but they got them. They Also have some really sweet older Film Nikons like F2T and a cherry 180-600 ED F8. What A honey of a Nikkor that one is. I wish Nikon would re-release or update some lens like that..OO
Anyway ,Kevin camera also has a couple of old 80-200 2.8 ED which is an amazing lens on the D3.
Im saving to replace the 8 2.8 AIS I had in the 80's . Sweet lens, on the D3 it would amazing. By the way, Keh has a 8mm 2.8 in "Ugly" and I had them pull it and look for me when it came in a month ago (thanks Auther) but it has spider web Fungus. A couple things I learned ordering Nikkor glass from KEH is , a 800 5.6 ED-IF in Bargin and ordering a 135 F2 in ugly condition. There bargin is really good IMO but there ugly is UGLY.

Running out of Lens Lust? Next you'll be telling us that you've been cured of NAS! We can't have that!

Seriously, what about the 14-24mm? From what I hear it's the perfect wide-angle lens for your D3. Or how about the 24mm PC-E?

Do you have a link to Kevin Camera? Google points to a site called Camera-Collectors.com but they don't have much.

I know what you mean about waning lust. I'm patiently waiting for new primes to be my viagra. I've thought of the ZF line but I'm not very confident about manually focusing anymore. I absolutely love the 14-24 on the D3 and I'm playing with my new sigma 150 macro. Recently however I find I'm shooting more with the older lenses like the 35/2 and 85/1.4.
I suppose the 10mm fisheye would be fun.

Hey Guys... you mean something like this???:smile: Nikkor AIS... you are not the only guy with a nice collection of AIS glass.:smile: I had 8 of these at one point. I recently sold one to Chamster (great guy BTW).

Don you make me blush. Wow. What a nice lens. My all time favorite for the coolest looking Nikkor ever. In my bedroom is a 3 foot round picture of a Kodachrome slide to 4X5 interneg -print of a little girls with a kite back lit on the beach of lake Ontario in the winter. I miss my 8 2.8 AIS. Thanks for posting the picture of your Fish-eye.

Russ, like you, I find that I already have the lenses I use the most. I could replace my 28-70 AF-S with the 24-70, however, I don't think that is a big enough move. I am considering the new 45mm PC-E, I like the focal length on my D3 (I have alread have a 45mm prime). I am also planning to purchase the SB-900. I once receive some very good advice, that I don't use enough; buy only what you need to solve a problem. The one problem I hope to solve with the 45mm PC-E is to increase my DOF for landscape images.

Man, I feel the same way lol. Nothing really trips my trigger to the point where I'm pulling out the cash or plastic. Kind of interested in the 500 f/4 VR, but not ready to buy another $7500+ lens just yet. Ultra-wide holds no interest for me, so the 14-24 or fisheyes are not calling their siren song. Maybe I can finally save for photo-shooting trips lol. Maybe I need to expand my areas of interest so I crave more equipment.

The only lens lust issues I have remaining is to be able to reach out and really grab stuff. My 500mm f/4 P IF ED w/ a 301 is not quite doing it for me.

I think I need to have a 300-800mm. Then I will stop. (maybe:)
